Introduction

Formally Established in 2023, the Department of Sociology at LBS Govt. P.G. College, Saraswati Nagar, is dedicated to providing students with a strong foundation in the study of society, culture, and social institutions. The department currently offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology, introducing students to the principles of sociological theory, methods, and contemporary social issues. As a newly established department, our primary focus is on creating a stimulating academic environment that encourages critical thinking and a deeper understanding of social realities. With committed faculty and enthusiastic learners, the Department of Sociology aims to grow as a hub of knowledge and social awareness, preparing students for higher education and diverse career opportunities in teaching, research, civil services, and social development sectors.
